Robert Mundell Makes a Speech in School of Economics

On November 1^{st, 2011, 1999 Nobel Prize winner, `Father of Euro`, Robert Mundell delivered a speech  `The International Crisis and the Future of Euro` in the Taikang Life Conference Hall of School of Economics. Chair of the University Council, ZHU Shanlu, and PKU vice president LI Yansong had a brief meeting with Mr. Mundell before the speech. Hosted by Professor SUN Qixiang, the speech attracted more than 400 audiences.}

During his speech, he reviewed the development history of U.S. currency policy and analyzed the basic reason of global economy crisis caused by subprime crisis in 2008. He also interpreted current world economy situation and the development of Euro. As to the current debt crisis in Europe, he analyzed its origin, and made his judgment and forecast of future Euro-area situation.

After the speech, Dean SUN Qixiang presented Mr. Mundell a souvenir on behalf of School of Economics.
