The 1st Guo Fu Forum held by School of Economics
On 3rd January 2012, the 1st Guo Fu Forum had successfully been held in School of Economics. At the moment of the centennial anniversary of School of Economics, our School held the Guo Fu Forum aiming at establishing the best platform of communication among academia, industrial and political circles. For the purpose of reviewing the situation of China and global economy in the past year, prospecting the economic development in 2012, analyzing the current economy of China, and exploring the mode of sustainable development of China, the topic of the forum was set as `Growth and Transformation: China`s Economy under the Background of Global Economic Turbulence`.
Prof. Sun Qixiang, Dean of School of Economics, firstly gave the opening speech. She introduced the origin of the forum, and reviewed the global economic situation in 2011. She also pointed out that the Euro Debt Crisis and America Economic Turbulence had brought more variables, at present, China had to face more problems and challenges, which would be more numerous and complex. The problems of imbalance, discordance and unsustainability were still prominent.
Prof. Liu Wei, Vice President of Peking University, Prof. Fan Gang, Director of Institution of National Economy Research, Mr. Tu Guangshao, Mayor of Shanghai, Prof. Jia Kang, Director of Financial Science Research of Ministry of Finance, Prof. Chen Xingdong, Chief Economist of Paris Security Co., Ltd of Asia, and economists from Chinese Academy of Social Sciences: Prof. Li Yang, Prof. Li Zhou, Prof. Gao Peiyong, Prof. Zhang Yuyan, Prof. Pei Changhong, gave their brilliant speeches of China`s economy from respective angles, such as currency policy, housing policy, and welfare policy etc. Many popular topics were discussed on the forum, and finally it was brought to a successful close.
