Recently, Prof. Li Hong, Director of the National Center for Resource and Economic Research (NERC), received Prof. S.K. Chou, Director of the National University of Singapore Energy Studies Institute, Dr. Su Bin and his fellow.
Professor Li extended a warm welcome to the guests and gave a detailed introduction to the background, orientation, organizational structure, development plan, goals and development status of the center, as well as research areas, recent academic achievements and future research directions, and hoped to strengthen the cooperation between the two sides. Director Zou Shaoqiang gave a detailed account of the background, positioning, goals, organizational structure, research fields, cooperation with well-known think tanks and the experience of building a world-class think tank in the field of energy. ESI was established in November 2007, and is committed to conducting in-depth research and analysis on regional and inter-state energy issues. In recent years, ESI has accumulated outstanding research results in energy-related fields such as Energy Efficiency and Conservation, Energy and Climate Change, Energy for Power Generation, Energy for Transport, Energy Geopolitics, Energy and Competitiveness, and ranked in the global think tank rankings.
Both sides expressed that the energy and environment issues are not only a development issue in China, but also a global problem. Both sides hope to further deepen cooperation in personnel training, academic research and communication in the future and jointly promote the research and development of cross-disciplines of energy economy.
