From November 5 to 10, Prof. Zhang Hui, Vice Dean of SEPKU, and Tang Yuxuan, Postdoctoral of SEPKU, visited the Sri Lanka and India along with the delegation from the China`s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On the morning of Nov. 6, the delegation arrived in Colombo, Sri Lanka. In the morning, Professor Zhang Hui and his delegation met with representatives and partners of the Chinese Metallurgical Group. Professor Zhang Hui introduced and explained China`s economic development and foreign economic cooperation to the company.
In the afternoon of Nov. 6, China Counselor Pang Chunxue in Sri Lanka, exchanged views on the vision of "One Belt, One Road" and the domestic and international economic situation with Professor Zhang Hui and his fellows, and welcomed and supported the local scholars.
On the morning of Nov. 7th, the delegation discussed in depth with the Sri Lankan Institute of Policy Studies think tank and columnist on China`s development experience, the dual circulation of global value, "One Belt, One Road" vision and the relationship between China and South Asia and other issues.
At noon on November 7, Ambassador Yi Xianliang of the Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka met with the delegation at the embassy. The ambassador introduced the economic and cultural development between China and Sri Lanka in recent years, and welcomed the scholars from China.
In the afternoon of November 7, Chinese Ambassador to India Luo Zhaohui met with the delegation in New Delhi. Ambassador Luo welcomed the delegation`s visit and briefed the Indian political and economic situation and the current Sino-Indian relations. Professor Zhang Hui thanked the Chinese Embassy for their long-term support and attention to the exchange and cooperation between Chinese and Indian scholars.
On the morning of November 8, the delegation communicated with representatives of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in India. The representatives introduced the development of Chinese enterprises in India, the development of investment in India, the business environment and policy implications of Chinese enterprises in India, the specific problems encountered and the main achievements. At the same time, the Chamber of Commerce also consulted scholars on the problems encountered in "One Belt, One Road" strategy and Chinese enterprises investment in India.
In the afternoon of Nov. 8, Prof. Zhang Hui and his delegation exchanged ideas with more than 30 experts and scholars from India`s well-known think tank Vivekananda Foundation. Professor Zhang introduced the history of China`s economic development since 1949 to Brigadier General Vinod Anand, Leader of the Foundation. Through specific analysis, Prof. Zhang compared the economic development, the similarities between China and India, and provided valuable experience for the future development of India.
On the morning of Nov. 9, the delegation came to IDSA and met with more than 20 experts and scholars, and discussed with Jayant Parsad, Director of the Institute of Defense Research and other 20 experts.
In the afternoon of November 9, Professor Zhang Hui and his entourage arrived at the Indian Army Research Center (CLAWS), and had a friendly discussion and interaction with more than 20 researchers such as Lieutenant General BS Nagal.
On November 10, Professor Zhang Hui and his entourage returned to China after their exchanges and visits to Sri Lanka and India.
