Evening Party of Centennial Anniversary Celebration of School of Economics
On the evening of May 25th, the evening party of Centennial Anniversary Celebration of School of Economics, namely the 110th Anniversary of Economics Discipline of Peking University, was put on the stage of Peking University Hall. PKU Vice President ZHANG Yan, Dean SUN Qixiang, Vice Dean ZHANG Zheng, alumni plus faculty & students got together to celebrate the important festival of School of Economics.
Composing of song and dance, scene play, poem recitation and instrumental music, these wonderful programs not only told the history of the School, but also expressed people`s love and expectations of School of Economics.
The evening party was started by a scene play & chorus One Hundred Year`s Love of School of Economics performed by 2011-enrolled undergraduates, which reviews the hundred year`s history of the School. Following is a duet of Guzheng and piano Man Jiang Hong presented by two musicians, with a sand painting on the background screen given by a famous sand painting master. The dancing team of School of Economics performed a dance Pursuit. Four students including WU Shanshan, LV Lin, CHEN Zhengxun and an alumnus REN Qiuxiao recited the poem My School Is One Hundred Year`s Old created by student LIU Kaiwei. Many alumni came over for the celebration from all over the world, and LI Siyu was one of them. She sang a song Lv Ye Dui Gen De Qing Yi (leaf cherished its affection toward the root) to express the affection of alumni toward the School. Faculty of the School sang the chorus Yan Yuan Love (`Yan Yuan` refers to Peking University) and Song of Youth; its leading singer, the famous singer JIN Man also extended her best wishes of School of Economics. PKU dancing team performed a dance Sailing, signifying that the 100-year-old ship, School of Economics, will sail in the sea of economics after going through the one hundred year`s history. Four singers and dancers of the School presented the dance and song Love Each Other, which indicates that students coming over nationwide and worldwide study and get along harmonious in the School. CAI Guoqing, a famous male singer of China, also came over to the show. He sang two classic songs Can`t Without You, The Same Song, and extended his wishes that he wished School of Economics will be a top School, and it will cultivate more talents in the world.
After these programs, Dean SUN Qixiang walked to the stage and shared her feelings and expectations of the School with the audience. After that, conducting by Dean SUN, the audience and performers sang the song Walking to Revival together.
As the closing of the party, the audience and School of Economics crossed the threshold of one century in the song Happy Birthday to You.
