On December 11, 2020, the third "Deans Forum of Schools of Economics of China's 100 Universities" was successfully held in the Dongxu Academic Lecture Hall (603) of the School of Economics. 169 presidents and deans from 136 universities gathered together to discuss the innovation and development of economics in the new era under the core theme of "new development stage, new development concept, new development pattern-economic innovation and development".

　　In order to strictly abide by the relevant regulations of normalized epidemic prevention and control and to ensure the smooth and efficient academic exchanges, this forum made full use of digital media and adopted the form of parallel main offline venue and online video conference.

　　The leaders and guests attending this forum were: Lin Yifu, Dean of the Institute of New Structural Economics of Peking University, Dean of the School of South-South Cooperation and Development of Peking University, and Honorary Dean of the National Development Research Institute of Peking University, Vice President of China Economic System Reform Research Association, Fan Gang, Dean of China (Shenzhen) Comprehensive Development Research Institute and President of Aoyuan Group Co., Ltd., Guo Zining, Member of the National Business Administration Professional Degree Postgraduate Education Committee, and 169 presidents and deans from 136 economic schools across the country. 

　　The forum consisted of the opening ceremony, keynote speech, cloud dialogue, three round table forums, eight parallel sub-forums, and talent recruitment fairs. The opening ceremony was presided over by Zhang Hui, Chairman of the Theoretical Economics Branch of Peking University Degree Evaluation Committee and Deputy Dean of the School of Economics.

　　In the opening ceremony, Dong Zhiyong, Assistant to the President of Peking University and Dean of the School of Economics, delivered a welcome speech on behalf of the School of Economics of Peking University. Then, Lin Yifu, Fan Gang and Guo Zining gave a keynote speech accordingly.

　　In the afternoon, eight parallel sub-forums set up in this forum were launched simultaneously on the online video conference platform, including: “How can economics play a role in the process of building a modern socialist country in the new era”, “How can economics teaching research meet the needs of the development of the party and the country”, “How to train high-level talents with both ability and political integrity in economics education”, “How to improve the level and quality of economics subject construction in the new era”, “How to improve and perfect the economics talent training system”, “How can economics serve to realize the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation”, “How can economics adhere to and develop socialism with Chinese characteristics” and “How to deepen the reform and innovation of economics education in the new era”. 

　　At the closing ceremony, the convener first made a statement on the main content of each sub-forum. Subsequently, Cui Jianhua, Chairman of the School of Economics Council, announced the "Proposal for the Third Deans Forum of Schools of Economics of China's 100 Universities". Finally, Zhang Hui, Chairman of the Theoretical Economics Branch of Peking University Degree Evaluation Committee, Deputy Dean of the School of Economics thanked all the guests for attending the meeting on behalf of the School of Economics of Peking University. 

　　In order to promote the cultivation and introduction of talents in economics disciplines in domestic universities and colleges, and to build an exchange platform between doctoral students and employers, this forum also set up a "hundred college talent recruitment fair" link. Affected by the epidemic, this recruitment fair adopted the online joint recruitment method and was officially launched on December 11.
