On the afternoon of September 1, 2022, the 2022 opening ceremony of the School of Economics at Peking University was held in the Dongxu Academic Lecture Hall of the school. Dong Zhiyong, Vice President of Peking University and Dean of the School of Economics, Cui Jianhua, Secretary of the School Council of the School of Economics, Zhang Hui, Deputy Dean and Head of the Department of Economics, Deputy Deans Suo Lingyan, Zhang Yaguang, Qin Xuezheng, Deputy Secretary of the School Council Song Fangxiu and Wang Yiran, Assistants to Dean Zhao Liuyan, Wu Zenan, Zhou Chao, Dean of the Department of International Economics and Trade Wang Yuesheng, Dean of the Department of Finance Wang Yiming, Dean of the Department of Risk Management and Insurance Zheng Wei, Dean of the Department of Resources, Environment and Industrial Economics Zhang Pengfei, representatives of the freshmen class teachers attended the ceremony. The opening ceremony was presided over by Suo Lingyan.

　　Before the start of the ceremony, the on-site audience reviewed the warm moments since the first arrival of the 2022 freshmen through an opening video. Then the ceremony started with the solemn and majestic national anthem.

Then, Zhou Ruilin, a representative of undergraduate freshmen, Lu Pengju, a representative of graduate freshmen, and Dong Chenhui, a 2017 undergraduate representative of current students, delivered speeches respectively.
