On October 21, 2022, the 1^st PKU-WASEDA workshop “Risk Management and Insurance in a Risk Society” was successfully held online. Associate Professor Dong Zhaohua, Vice Dean of the School of International Studies at Peking University, Professor Zheng Wei, Associate Professor Liu Xinli and Associate Professor Chen Kai of the School of Economics at Peking University, Professor Lee Hongmu of Graduate School of Business at Waseda University, Professor Motoyama Tetsuhito, Deputy Director of the International Department of Waseda University, and more than 20 teachers and students from Peking University and Waseda University attended the seminar. The seminar was co-chaired by Associate Professor Dong Zhaohua and Professor Zheng Wei. Teachers and students of the two universities conducted in-depth discussions and exchanged ideas on research topics in various fields such as disaster risk and population aging.

　　First of all, Associate Professor Dong Zhaohua delivered the opening speech. Then, Professor Lee Hongmu gave a speech on the theme of "Disaster Risk and Disaster Risk Financing in Japan". He analyzed the composition of natural disasters in Japan based on historical data. After that, Professor Zheng Wei delivered a speech on the theme of "China's Aging Population and Its Economic Impact". In the student speech session, graduate students from Peking University and Waseda University reported their research results in the morning and afternoon respectively. Finally, Professor Motoyama Tetsuhito made a closing conclusion and expressed his appreciation for this academic seminar.
